Honoring both Pride Month and Juneteenth, Threads of Liberation: The Fabric of Our Truth is a community-centered exhibition exploring identity, resilience, authenticity, truth, and the many ways liberation can be experienced through creativity and material storytelling. Presented by Dandelion Art Gallery & Studios, NFP, Inc. and its affiliates, the exhibition features community artists, members of the Dandelion Artist Alliance, designers, performers, and creatives sharing diverse lived experiences through visual art, fashion, textiles, wearable art, mixed media, sculpture, photography, poetry, music, performance, and other creative forms. Featured artists include Roman Liufa, Jay Ballard, Chris(tine) Woodard, Ivana Cipurko, Hector J. Esquivel, Catriona Cummings, Ava Koot, Aime Bracamontes, Stephanie Colotti, Miyuki Lin Dones, and Srivani Vokkarane, alongside artists of the Dandelion Artist Alliance. The exhibition also features fashion and wearable art by Kim Rahaal, Robin Clyborn, Loopy Connections, and Michael McConville, whose creative works explore identity, transformation, culture, and personal narrative through textile and material expression. We proudly celebrate artists representing diverse, historically underrepresented, marginalized, and emerging perspectives. At its heart, this exhibition is about visibility, belonging, authenticity, and the power of creative expression. We believe every voice has value, every story matters, and every thread contributes to the fabric of our collective truth. Throughout the evening, guests can explore the exhibition, meet participating artists during a special Artist Meet & Greet, and engage in meaningful conversations inspired by the artwork and stories on display. Community members are also invited to participate in the Threads of Liberation Community Weaving Experience, an interactive collective art installation. Participants may add a word, message, symbol, or reflection to a fabric strip before weaving it into a shared community artwork. Together, these contributions will create a vibrant tapestry celebrating the voices, stories, and experiences that connect us. This free community event during ArtWauk welcomes all ages, backgrounds, identities, and abilities. Donations are appreciated and help support our mission, while purchases of artwork directly support participating artists and help sustain Dandelion's exhibitions, programs, and community initiatives. Because our stories are interconnected, our voices matter, and liberation grows stronger when we create, learn, and celebrate together.
